Plugd will not sell the rights to your music. Participating artists will retain the rights to their music after uploading it on Plugd. Plugd will never give your e-mail address or other personal data to third parties for commercial use.

What's Plugd?
Plugd is a social media promotional tool that allows musicians to share their music in exchange for digital word of mouth. In other words,the first track of an album is available to stream with no stipulations, but in order to hear more, fans must comment on the song (required to unlock the second track) or rate the song from 1-5. Comments/ratings serve as Facebook and/or Twitter updates for all of their friends to see. These comments then drive traffic back to your band's socket.

Did you just say "socket"?
That's correct, we did. A socket is where your band's album lives on Plugd. It's not really a profile, it's not really a widget, but it's somewhere in between. You plug your socket to your fans and they plug your socket to their friends.

How much does Plugd cost?
There are two versions of the promotional tool for you to use: a free version and a premium version that costs $10. The free version allows you to use our proprietary technology for one album at a time for one month at a time. The premium version allows you to upload unlimited albums for a year and keep those albums live for a year. With the premium version, you can also put a tip jar on your page and collect donations for your album(s).

Wait, you'd charge musicians in this recession?
Instead of bombarding you with annoying ads or taking a cut of the money you raise on the site, we're simply asking for a small admission fee.

Does Plugd take any ownership rights in my music?
No, we do not. The only rights we take are the obvious one to help you promote your music (e.g., non-exclusive rights to host the music you upload, display any artwork or logos on a custom profile, etc.)

If you are interested in a custom profile, please send a request to info@plugdtunes.com with the subject line: "Custom Profile Request: BAND NAME". If our graphic designer has the energy, we'd be happy to work something out.

Will it cost money?
It depends on how intense/detailed the job is.

Why should I use Plugd over other music sites?
You should use Plugd to complement the other sites your music is currently posted on. Your music can never get enough coverage. Our job is to help your music get even more exposure by unleashing it virally on popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Plugd can also come in handy if you want some honest track-by-track feedback on your album. Plus, the comments made about your music can make great blurbs to post on your other social media profiles!

If I don't want to post a full album on Plugd, can I still use the technology?
Of course you can. We do encourage that you post more than two songs so your fans have incentive to spread the word on your behalf. Also, if you do decide to post a few songs from an album, we ask that you title it "ALBUM TITLE" EP, to make things more consistent. Plugd can be your outlet to create a digital EP for viral distribution.
